Yambe-akka is a spirit in the folk beliefs of the Lapp people of the northern Baltic states.
She is the guardian of the underworld, which was conceived of as an ocean of ice supporting the upper world. Entrance to this underworld was by way of the mouth of a river.
Because this underworld was peopled by the elderly departed, it was said that when their feeble hands trembled, the world above was shaken by the earth tremors.
She is amazingly powerful, the touch of her hand will send tremors and chills down your spine. I came across her by accident when I was searching the underworld for demon dogs. Found some by the way. :) She is quite intellegent and willing to show you her part of the underworld. I find her quite pleasant to be around.
