The pit and the pendulum

The chamber itself is made to induce fear; the slow descent of the pendulum creates both psychological suspense and mortal terror; and the pit represents the final decision: death, the ultimate fear. This listing is really neat in that I have turned it into a curse, one that you can send out over and over to whomever you want. The pendulum with its razor-sharp edge is one of the symbols of time that brings with it impending doom.
